Objective of the Role
The primary objective of the Compliance Officer Reaction & Remediation is to ensure that risks and process weaknesses are identified early and reduced or, ideally, eliminated through the development and implementation of compliance measures.
We are currently undergoing a comprehensive transformation of our compliance management system. This phase requires experienced leaders with in-depth compliance expertise who assume responsibility within the framework of the 3-pillar model. The Compliance Officer Reaction & Remediation reports to the Chief Compliance Officer of the Heraeus Group.
Your contribution:
Coordination and implementation of compliance risk analyses within the Group.
Design and implementation of appropriate compliance measures to reduce risks in the areas of bribery, corruption, conflicts of interest, fraud, antitrust law, money laundering prevention, supply chain compliance, and export control.
Analysis and elimination of weaknesses in processes and control systems, including tracking and documentation of the measures.
Recommendation and implementation of sanctions based on investigation findings in close coordination with the members of the Compliance Committee.
Reactive project work to implement regulatory requirements (e.g., sanctions, money laundering prevention) and evaluation of suspicious transactions.
Preparation of risk reports and recommendations for action for the Chief Compliance Officer, as well as communication of lessons learned.
Continuous improvement of the compliance program through benchmarking and monitoring.
Advice and management of the OpCo Compliance Managers in the implementation of group-wide guidelines and standards.
Creation of reporting formats for coordinating compliance activities across the entire group.
Support/project management regarding the goal of achieving PS-980 certification of the compliance management system.
What you bring with you:
Completed degree in economics, law, or a related/comparable field with a focus on compliance, risk management, or governance
At least 10 years of professional experience in compliance management, conducting compliance risk analyses, and project management, ideally in an internationally operating industrial company or in the banking sector
Experience in leading employees
In-depth knowledge of the relevant legal and regulatory frameworks (e.g., sanctions, money laundering prevention, anti-corruption, antitrust law, and supply chain compliance)
Knowledge of the processes of the precious metals processing industry is a “nice to have”
Strong resilience, objectivity, and ethical leadership – even under pressure and in sensitive situations
Strong communication skills in German and English (business fluent), coupled with empathy and emotional intelligence
Strategic and analytical thinking skills to develop sustainable and globally deployable compliance strategies and concepts
Discretion and the ability to work as a team Confidential information and to promote constructive cooperation
